SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 8, 2018) – Derek Barnett (SR/Mentone Beach, Calif.) of Our Lady of the University (OLLU) captured the 2018 OLLU Invite individual title this morning and the team placed second among six others. The fourth annual event was held at Mission Del Lago Golf Course.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "It is always interesting to see how the men's team dynamic changes when going from 5k, which the freshmen are more comfortable with, to 8k. The freshmen got thrown into the fire so to speak today having to run one of the most difficult courses in my memory and certainly the most difficult course we've ever created for a home meet. That being said, it is nice having the depth we have with the men. The freshmen took their lumps but upperclassmen stepped up to secure a quality result."
