HOBBS, N.M. (March 19-20, 20 16) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team won three of four Red River Athletic Conference games against the University of the Southwest (USW). On Saturday, the Saints lost the first game 1-3 and came back to win the second game 16-7. In Sunday's doubleheader, the Saints won 7-1 and 11-3.
The Saints are now 16-15 overall and 8-4 in conference, while the Mustangs are 5-22 overall and 2-6 in conference.
Head Coach Freddy Rodriguez commented: "It's always good to win a series on the road. We had some goals going into this series and I think we did a great job of making those adjustments on a short week. It's always tough playing in Hobbs, but we didn't lose focus and competed all weekend. We did some really good things offensively and were able to put up some runs against a tough USW team. I know our guys have been working hard offensively and it showed in this series. Now we have to prepare for Wiley this weekend at home."
