FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS (May 5, 2017) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team began the 2017 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship Tournament this morning with a 4-3 win over the University of the Southwest (USW). The Saints moved on to play the third game of the tournament against the top-seeded LSU-Alexandria (LSUA) and suffered a 3-0 loss. The Saints are now 23-21, while USW is 19-24 and LSUA is 45-8.
The Saints will open the second day of the tournament at 11 a.m. on Saturday against Huston-Tillotson University (HTU). The Rams defeated Langston University 5-4 in the tournament's second game today.
In the fourth and last game of the first day, the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) defeated Langston 12-0 in five innings.
Following the Saints' 11 a.m. game on Saturday, Langston will play USW at 1:30 p.m., and UHV will play LSUA at 4 p.m. The final game tomorrow will feature the winner of the game between HTU and OLLU and the winner of the game between USW and Langston at 6:30 p.m. Sunday will feature the loser of the seventh game and winner of the eighth game at 11 a.m., and the championship game will be between the winner of game seven and the winner of the ninth game at 1:30 p.m.
