DES MOINES, IOWA (Oct. 12, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team traveled to De Moines for the Grand View Tournament featuring top ranked teams in the NAIA. The Saints first faced MidAmerica Nazarene University (MANU) and lost 3-1 and they closed out the evening with a loss to the 20th ranked team in the NAIA Bellevue University (BU) 3-1. The Saints drop to 9-10 overall, while MANU improves to 7-21, and BU moves to 16-7.
Head Coach Jeremiah Tiffin commented, "Today was a day of missed opportunities. We played four tight sets and didn't win any of them. We had our chances but couldn't put it together.
"I was pleased with our effort against Bellevue. We made some changes, and I thought our level of play rose. Bailei Hubbard (SO/Helotes, Texas) getting 61 attempts is not what we had envisioned but it's what presented itself.
"Our defense made some strides today. We made good adjustments and our blocking improved as well. Hopefully we can continue this pattern tomorrow."
