SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 4, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team dropped a nonconference match 3-1 against St. Mary's University (StM) despite a hard-fought battle. Two sets were decided by two points, while one was lost by three and another by four. The Saints move to 2-6 overall, while the Rattlers improve to 3-2.
Head Coach Jeremiah Tiffin said, "I think overall, this was a big step forward for us tonight. It shows that when we are mentally engaged, we are going to be really good. I think there were flashes when we played the best we've ever played. If we play at this level all the way through we are going to be okay. It's just going to be about cutting down errors and getting mentally sharper.
"We've got some heavy hitters, but they make too many errors sometimes, and so we have got to cut down on that. But if we can hit, we are going to be offensively where we need to be. Tonight was the best game we've passed and that's just because our bench has been pushing us since the beginning of the year. If we keep passing like this, our depth will shine through and we will be alright."
