SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 22, 2018) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team welcomes seven new players and returns 10, including eight playing their last season at OLLU. The team is guided by James Kling, who at the end of last season, won his 200th collegiate game. He begins his eighth season at the helm.
The women spent the fall semester getting set for their ninth season in 2018 by playing several round robin games in October, and Kling saw this as very productive. "It was a chance for our new players to get acclimated to the new system. We brought in true freshmen and a couple of transfers, so playing these games in the fall has been a chance for them to get used to what we do. We have a large group of upperclassmen, and this gave them a chance to get our new players under their wing and really guide them." Kling said the fall games were also a way for his team to do some team building and to find out where they are at athletically.
