HOUSTON (Nov. 11, 2017) – For the third consecutive year, the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team captured the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Tournament title after defeating Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) 3-0.
The Saints out-killed the Rams 44-38 in the 25-17, 25-19, 25-22 rout and will advance to the opening round of the NAIA National Championship Tournament. The Rams, appearing in their first-ever RRAC Tournament Finals, end their season with a 21-9 record. The Saints sit at 23-8.
Head Coach Jeremiah Tiffin commented, "I am so proud of this team. They have worked tremendously hard this season and improved every week. Natalie Fazio and Kalani Wood are examples of that. They were high error early in the year but they kept working and you see the results with Natalie being on the All-Tournament Team, and Kalani hitting .300.
"Huston-Tillotson played very well today. They are a physical team and their outsides are top notch. Dan does a great job with his team and they were ready to compete today.
"I can't wait to see where we play next weekend. We are excited and read to keep our season going."
