KANSAS CITY, MO. (March 1, 2016) – Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) locks down the No. 1 ranking for a fifth-consecutive week in the 2015-2016 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The final regular-season edition will be announced on Wednesday, March 9.
The only other Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) opponent in the Top 25 this week is Langston University, which improved from No. 25 to No. 23. LSU-Shreveport (LSUS) dropped out of the Top 25 and received 48 votes. Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) received 10 votes.
The Saints boast a 27-2 record, including a 18-0 mark in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC), en route to its second-consecutive conference regular-season title and third in program history. As the No. 1 seed in the RRAC Tournament, Our Lady of the Lake receives a bye into the semifinals and awaits the lowest remaining seed. They are scheduled to play at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 4, on the campus of LeTourneau University. No. 3 seed HTU will play No. 6 University of St. Thomas on March 3 at 1 p.m. No. 4 LSUS will play No. 5 Wiley College at 6 p.m. No. 2 Langston will play the highest remaining seed on Friday at 1 p.m. The championship match will take place on Saturday, March 5 at 3 p.m. The tournament is being hosted by Wiley College.
