GEORGETOWN, TEXAS (Oct. 25, 2017) – Our Lady of the University (OLLU) volleyball dropped a nonconference match against Southwestern University this evening. The 3-0 loss to the NCAA D3 team moves the Saints to 17-8 overall, while the Pirates improve to 26-4. Earlier this season, the Saints defeated the Pirates 3-2 at home, and during that match, the Saints recorded the most kills, most assists and most digs.
Head Coach Jeremiah Tiffin commented, "Give all credit to Southwestern. They were more disciplined than us and had a great game plan for us. Don Flora is a fantastic coach and he had his team well-prepared.
"This was a match that we did not put ourselves in a position to win. Southwestern is a tough place to play, and we let a couple of good plays on their side effect what we were doing and that led to deficits we could not overcome.
"This will be a wake-up call for us that we can be beat on any day. I'm looking forward to seeing how we respond against a really good Huston-Tillotson team on Friday."
OLLU is 1-4 against Southwestern in matches since 2012.
