[Men's Golf] OLLU men's golf captures 2017 Red River Athletic Conference Championship title

UNIVERSAL CITY, TEXAS (April 25, 2017) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team captured the 2017 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship Tournament – the Saints third title in three years and the first-ever among solely RRAC teams. In the last two years, the Saints have competed along with the Sooner Conference and were the top RRAC finishers in both years.

The Saints also won all the top awards, including those selected by the conference coaches.

The two-day event took place at Olympia Hills Golf and Event Center and was being hosted by the Saints.

Head Coach Alan E. Baxter commented, "We are excited to be representing the RRAC in men's golf at the upcoming NAIA National Championships at TPC Deere Run in May. We are confident we will do the conference and school proud. I am happy for the team and the tremendous efforts the guys have all shown. We have a goal - and it has not been realized yet. We have unfinished business. We will work very hard in the coming weeks. This was a total team effort from the faculty and staff of the university to the players. I am excited for Assistant Coach Arnie Martinez as he has worked hard and gone beyond the call of duty. The team, individual and coach's awards and recognitions are nice, but we have our eyes on a bigger prize. After Nationals, we will take some time to reflect on all the accomplishments, but for now, we are focused on finishing strong in school, celebrating the four seniors who are graduating and getting ready for Nationals. We will work harder than ever before."
