LUBBOCK, TEXAS (Nov. 21, 2016) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) Saints men's basketball team lost an exhibition 67-93 to the NCAA Division II Lubbock Christian University (LCU) Chaps in the front end of a two-game road trip out to the Texas Panhandle.
LCU worked methodically against the Saints' full court press, but struggled early as defenders manage to turn ball handlers into help, generating four early OLLU steals.
While OLLU was able to force some turnovers, the Saints never managed to consistently hurry LCU outside of its comfort zone. The Chaps were able to find some gaps, move the ball side-to-side and get looks at the rim or draw fouls from scrambling defenders.
The first half was back and forth in a game of runs, with the score tied five different times with six lead changes. But the Saints' shooting woes and LCU's free throw advantage (27-for-34 for LCU, 12-for-16 for OLLU) extended the Chaps lead over the course of the game.
