SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 19, 2016) – As the season grew shorter for one of two teams in the 2016 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Opening Round, the rallies grew longer. In the end, the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats outlasted the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) Saints, coming back from an 0-2 deficit to win in five sets.
In an effort to extend the season just a little longer, both teams dug deep, tracking balls to the back of the gym and diving into the scorer's table, making improbable saves. Many rallies ended up a matter of attrition, leaving every ounce of effort on the court. The Saints, undefeated at Mabee Gymnasium all season, rode the home crowd's energy to a 25-17 and 25-20 victory in the first two sets.
