SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 22, 2021) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team defeated Jarvis Christian College (JCC) 3-0 on Friday to open the 2021 season. The Saints begin the year 1-0 overall and 1-0 in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play. The Bulldogs drop to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the RRAC.
The Saints put on a dominant performance in the first match of the season. OLLU recorded 13 kills in the first set and didn't allow any by the Bulldogs. They forced six errors by Jarvis in the second set and posted an impressive .579 hitting percentage. The Saints closed the match by allowing only eight points in the third set. Freshman Anastasia Brown (FR/Aransas Pass, Texas) totaled six kills and Anissa Tamez (SR/San Antonio, Texas) tallied 26 assists.
