SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 18, 2021) - Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's basketball team has given each member of the team the opportunity to 'opt-in' or 'opt-out' of the remainder of the season
Head Coach Stacy Stephens said, "I would like to state that we (OLLU women's basketball staff and players) totally and fully respect the decision of the women's basketball players to opt-in (play) or to opt-out (not play) during this unprecedented times. Coach Tommy Turgeon and I will not change in regards to the academic standards that we have for our team no matter how their decision impacts us on the court. Academics and graduation are goals in our program. We will also continue to work on the court with the players who have opted in, understanding that we will continue to strive for greatness, and some players will be taking on new roles and new challenges. We are excited for the growth that is to come in the remainder of the 2020-2021 basketball season."
