AUSTIN, TEXAS (Oct. 10, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team defeated Huston-Tillotson University (HTU) 4-0 on Thursday. The Saints are now 8-4-1 on the season and 4-1 against Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) opponents. Huston-Tillotson moves to 4-5 on the season and 2-2 in RRAC play.
Head Coach Shane Hurley commented on the win saying, "We are pleased with the consistent good attitude and work-rate the team has demonstrated the last two games. To have a successful season, it is non-negotiable that those fundamental characteristics only continue to improve."
The Saints have won three straight RRAC matches and have scored 11 goals during the streak. Luan Balestieri (JR/Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) and Charbel Elbayeh (SO/San Antonio, Texas) both scored two goals today. The pair also scored goals in the previous match against Texas College. Keelin Garrity (SO/Katy, Texas) made five saves in goal during 45 minutes of play, and Joseph Baker (FR/Llantwit Major, Wales, U.K.) stopped two shots while playing the length of the second half. With the win the Saints are deadlocked at 8-8-1 against HTU in the all-time series.
