SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 26, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team took down Texas A&M University – Texarkana (TAMUT) 1-0 in its first Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) game of the season. The Saints were able to pull away with a win despite allowing 19 shots by the Eagles. Dawson Brinkley (SO/San Antonio, Texas) scored the game-winning goal for OLLU at the 64th minute with an assist from Sarah Miles (FR/Helotes, Texas).
The Saints were consistently on the ball on defense, and goalkeeper Savannah Hernandez (JR/El Paso, Texas) made 13 saves in the shutout. OLLU recorded eight corner kicks compared to Texarkana's three. Eagles' Jalynn Garcia was shown a yellow card at the 75th minute. Both teams tallied six fouls. The Saints have won three straight games and look to continue that streak when they host Paul Quinn College on Saturday for another conference matchup.
