STERLINGTON, LA. (May 7, 2019) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team ended its record-breaking season on Sunday with losses to Jarvis Christian College and LSU-Shreveport. The 9-0 and 7-3 games bring the Saints final 2019 record to 31-24 – the best finish for team since it began competing in 2015.

Head Coach Bryan Aughney commented, "Well, Monday was not a good day for us. But it doesn't take away from what this group was able to accomplish this season. We had a record-setting season and raised the bar for this program. I'm very proud of our players for their commitment and the work they put in this season.

"In game one versus Jarvis, we dug ourselves a hole and weren't able to get anything going offensively. We did a few things that have been uncharacteristic for us, and we couldn't get anything going.

"Game two versus LSUS was a great game for the most part. I am very proud of the way Logan Garza bounced back and pitched a heck of a game. We came to life a little offensively and created some opportunities. The hidden ball trick late in the game was a momentum changer for sure, give them credit for catching us and me off guard with it. We continued to battle and didn't quit; we just couldn't scratch anymore.

"Overall, we had a lot of guys step up in lots of situations, and we learned a lot about ourselves. I know we will be better from the experience and lessons learned this season. I want to thank our seniors for their commitment to the program and for their efforts during their time as a Saint. It was a great ride, and we all wish them the best."
