BROOKINGS, S.D. (March 2, 2019) – Miki Romain (JR/Austin, Texas) of Our Lady of the Lake University competed in the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. Romain participated in the 60mH and placed 17th out of 31 athletes.
Head Coach Stephen Sherman said, "If I were to pluck any random person from a crowd and tell them that they had eight to nine seconds to do whatever it is they do well better than they have ever done it before I don't imagine too many would be successful. Well, that's essentially track and field in a nutshell, and it's what we asked of Miki at this meet. Just as she has so many times before she came through. You simply cannot ask more of an athlete than to go out compete and run the fastest time to that point in their lifetime. Also, to be the 17th best person in something at your level in the entire country is an amazing feat. Coach Terry Smith and I are extremely proud of Miki, and I know she has the full weight of our entire team behind her too."
