SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 3, 2018) – Jorge Cavazos (SR/McAllen, Texas) of Our Lady of the Lake University has been selected to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® NAIA men's soccer team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-2019 NAIA Goggle Cloud Academic All-America® teams.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games. No student-athlete is eligible until he has completed one full calendar year at his current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Nominees in graduate school like Cavazos must have a cumulative of 3.30 GPA or better both as an undergrad and in grad school.
Nominees who are selected to the All-District First Team are eligible for the All-America recognition.
